Imagine the naturally white, translucent outer glass-like enamel of your tooth being a window. Through this, we see the underlying tooth itself called the dentin which provides the natural ivory/white colour of your tooth.
Here at Teeth Whitening Co. we clean this stained enamel window so the natural colour of the dentin is revealed, brightening and whitening your smile in the process.

Our equipment is dentist grade and is the latest ultrasonic LED technology on the market and we use medical grade 6% and 12% hydrogen peroxide. In combination with our whitening gel and high tech lights we are able to decrease processing time and also limit sensitivity.

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic enhancement, we recommend a visit to your dentist prior to your teeth whitening appointment to check for any concerns. You must have no dental conditions such as gum disease or open cavities. If you have had a scale and polish please wait 14 days before having your teeth whitening treatment, no less as teeth can be sensitive during this time.
You must be over 16 years, not pregnant or lactating when you book in for a teeth whitening treatment.
Our Advanced Whitening Treatment and Sensitive Whitening Treatment both consist of three 15 minute rounds under our ultrasonic LED light with a fresh application of whitening gel applied to your ‘seen teeth’ each time, please allow up to 60 minutes for this treatment.
Our Maintenance Treatments are both $120. This treatment is recommended every three months following your initial treatment to your white shade. Please allow up to 30 minutes for this treatment.
The morning of your treatment we recommend brushing your teeth with water as some toothpastes contain fillers which can affect the results of your treatment.

Your treatment can last up to 6 – 12 months depending on your lifestyle. Eating, drinking and smoking habits play a huge role so we recommend a Top Up Treatment every 3 months to maintain your white smile.
The White Diet is just as important as the treatment itself – we recommend 24 hours but if you can go longer even better! Your teeth are porous over this time and restaining could occur from coloured food and drinks. Eating and drinking white or clear coloured food and drinks will stop any potential rebound.

In general, it could take up to 18-months or longer to whiten your teeth only one shade lighter through daily use of a toothpaste-whitening product as compared to using a professionally applied whitening gel that will generally whiten teeth by 2-10 shades* over a 1-hour procedure period. (*Average 3-8 shades)
The main reasons for this is that toothpaste is diluted by saliva and is only in your mouth for a few minutes, or less.
Moreover, most whitening toothpaste simply removes extrinsic (surface) stains on the enamel with mild abrasives and/or special chemical or polishing agents.
If restorations such as crowns/caps are planned it is advisable to whiten teeth first, and then match the new restorations to the whitened teeth. This is particularly important for the anterior (front) seen part of your mouth.
If crowns already exist, teeth whitening will only clean the surface, it will NOT whiten the crown. Therefore, if the crown was matched to stained teeth it will be a darker colour than recently whitened teeth.
Tooth sensitivity occurs when the whitening gel travels too far into the teeth during the treatment and irritates the nerves in the teeth. This is a temporary side effect from the treatment, and no permanent damage is caused, but for some clients, it can be extremely unpleasant and painful.
The strength and percentage of the whitening gel have a direct correlation with client sensitivity.
Dentist strength systems often use higher percentage whitening gels (35%HP) and these regularly cause sensitivity in clients with certain tooth conditions.
In contrast, new Cosmetic strength whitening gels use a 6% – 12% hydrogen peroxide whitening gel formula. This is the recommended limit for controlling sensitivity among clients. Any higher strength gel than this will undoubtedly result in more cases of sensitivity from the whitening treatment.
